Place Value in Room 5

We are learning all about Place Value in Room 5 at the moment. Today we talked about all the different ways we knew which number was bigger when comparing two numbers. Miss Boaler gave us a challenge to see who could make the biggest number only using 12 pop sticks. We had to copy the numbers off the calculator. The biggest number we came up with was 1471. 

 Can you make any bigger numbers?

    Wow that is such a cool activity to learn about place value. Mmmmm I will have to put my thinking cap on to try and come up with a bigger number. I am going to have to exercise my brain a lot! Miss Smith
