Our assembly item

We are busy practising all of our speaking parts for our assembly item. We are very excited to run the whole assembly and show you all what we have been learning. See you all on Friday morning at 9am 

Measurement fun

Yesterday we made paper planes and did an investigation into how far they could fly. As a group we had to estimate and then measure with two different units. It was a lot of fun. Check out our measuring skills. 

Room 5 Maths Measuring

We have been learning how to use a ruler properly by using our crocodile rulers. We have learnt about half, quarter and 3 quarters. Check us out measuring things around our room and recording down how long they are. We are being careful to start from the same place and record exactly where it stops.

Our technology challenge

Today Miss Boaler put us in groups of 4 and gave us 25 marshmallows and 15 kebab sticks and told us to build the tallest tower we could. We had to use team work to make our creation. We did such an awesome job and all managed to create a stable tower. We then came up with ideas of how we could measure our towers. We decided cubes would be the fairest way and wrote 2 sentences about our tower. First sentence was how tall our tower was in cubes and the second how tall it was in centimetres. We learnt some new maths words today while having fun! Check us out...

What an awesome day!

Thank you again to all the amazing parent help. Our trip finally went ahead and what an awesome trip it was. Check out the smiles. 

Bubble fun in Room 5!

Today for Writing we talked about building up our vocabulary to help us describe things in our Writing with more detail. We brainstormed what bubbles feel and look like. We came up with some awesome new words we can use tomorrow in our Writing. Check us out.

Our star Writers

Today Jordyn and Jamie went to see Mr Pearse with their super writing. They both wrote their ideas down independently and used heaps of adjectives to make their writing engaging for their reader. Ka mau te wehi Boys- awesome! Well done. 

Thanks Room 14!

Today during swimming Room 14 helped some of us to Starfish float on our front and backs. It helped us to get our confidence to do it on our own and guess what..... Some of us can now Starfish float all by ourselves. What a good skill to have. Thank you so much to our older buddies. 

Thank you PTA!!

Room 5 was lucky enough to get some of the left over bread from the Whanau night. We had sandwiches this afternoon. They were super yummy! Thanks so much to the PTA!
